My 95 eclipse is doing something wierd. Some days it will start and run fine and others the check engine light won't come on, the fuel pump won't kick on and it will not get fire to the coil and won't start. Can someone please give me some insight as to what this problem might be ? :(

If you set your ignition to the ON position (not START) and your check engine light does not turn on for 5 seconds, then this would point to a possible defective ECU. Do you have a spare ECU that you could borrow to see if that corrects the problem?

I'm not too familiar with the N/T DSM's. Ideally, if you could obtain another ECU from a '95 N/T DSM, that would be your best bet. The ECU would definitely have to come from another N/T DSM, but I'm not sure if an ECU from another model year N/T would be compatible with a '95 N/T. Someone else on this forum may be able to help you better on this subject regarding N/T DSM's.

For testing purposes any 95-99 NT ECU should work that has the same transmission (manual or auto). You might also consider that the ASD relay may be intermittent. It is the middle of 3 relays on the driver's side firewall (engine compartment) next to the brake fluid reservoir.

:D I checked all the relays and they are good. I bought another pcm and changed them out and everything is going great. The pcm had to come from a june 1994 production car. No other pcm would interchange or at least that is what i was told (something about the plugs and setup was different).:thumb: :dsm:

I changed the pcm and the engine is running fine but i have a check engine light now that will not go away. I have taken it to autozone to get the codes and to have it reset. They told me it was caused by my air intake (aftermarket set up) and reset it but it only lasted for a day or so. I did a check myself using the key switch method and got three different codes ( 12,36,55). I have a repair book with some codes in it but two of the codes are not in the book. Code 36 is the only one in there. It reads( pulsed secondary air injection system problem- 95 manual transaxle only). Can anyone tell me how to fix the problem?
