I'm new to turbo's and I got some quick questions guys.

I just bought the car and there was a long long screw in there, and it wouldn't have enough clearance for the hood to close. I'm going to cut the screw enough to clear the hood and fit in there, I don't even know if it belongs or not.

The BOV sounds good I'm just wondering if there should be a screw in there (it's out right now) and what's with the 'soft' & 'hard' writing on the BOV, are those some type of settings?

The screw/nut that should be there compresses the spring so you can adjust the resistance of the bov. Too tight causes flutter when you let off the gasband that's bad for the turbo. And too loose causes it to release under boost. You want it there. If its hitting the hood you can go with a 1g style valve or just trim a little off the top.
 
Softer and harder means exactly that- Softer or harder spring tension against the valve. Ideally, you want to set the spring tension to soft as possible before the valve is pulled open at idle. I would suggest removing/modifying the springs. EVO Performance Parts | EvoMoto.com

That screw has nothing to do with boost pressure.

The BOV was popping up when I was just hitting 4k that's not what it did before when I went to buy it, it didn't move at all.

The BOV should not be moving right?
