95 Eprom

Does anyone know if swapping out my 98 ECU for a 95 EPROM (for Keydiver chips or DSMLink) changes anything as far as emissions and other maps? Basicly, if I took a all stock 98 GST and put a stock 95 ECU in, threoretically, would anything change?

the plugs fire in a different order, cant remember what it changes to, but someone will answer it for you

Do you know if a keydiver chip or DSMLink could change that? Or would just switching the plug wires work?

just changing the plugs works. The ECU fires the plugs in a different order, so just reorder them to fire when and where they whould

I don't know about the DSMLINK, but with the keydiver chip you have switch, at the coilpack, plug wire 1 and 4, plug wire 2 and 3. I just did it to my car.

yea, it has nothing to do with DSMLink or Keydiver. Its the 95 ECU. It just fires the plugs in a different order then the later ECUs

I'm guessing all the sensors work the same with both ECUs? How about that emissions crap though?

The cam angle sensor signal is inverted between a 95 and a 98. In DSMLink, there's a check box for inverting the CAS signal if you have a 97+ engine. The car will still run, but will run a little rough, a bit more noticeably in the lower RPMs-- at least that's the way it is on my car when I reset the ECU and forget to recheck the "Invert CAS" box in the DSMLink control software.
