95-96 Talon Side Skirts on a 97-98 Talon

Yeah, I PM'd the guy (actually emailed) he didn't get back to me... That was the same day he posted his classified ad. That really sucks... It would save me a little bit of more monkey work, but oh well. Either way, I am going to do this.... Anything worth doing is always challenging....

So I ordered me a set.

My question is, are there current skirts on the 97-98 that has to be removed before putting the 95-96 skirts on? I can't really tell if it's a part of the door or something else.

If you have a 97-98 Talon then no it does not have a set you have to take off. Make sure you have all six pieces though. 2xdoor cap, 2 side skirts, 2x front skirt cap. Look at my gallery for pix.

Yes, that was the craze for a few days. It was for those who couldn't afford either a Scirocco or an Isuzu Impulse.

Could be worse. Could be that maniacal Mercedes crap where they make the passenger side wiper go through six kinds of monkey-motion to get an extra three inches clear, out of the driver's line of sight.

Hahaha YEAH...that was actually a fad for awhile . Some guys would prop the wiper straight up in the air like a rhino horn?!?!?

I don't like that the side door thingamajiggies don't line up with the other lines on the front clip, the hi wing and the side skirts. I would just skip those if you have a 2Ga. I always liked the mean look of the Talon 2Gb front clip and now that they are much more available I will get one. I'm not going to go with the full Talon 2Gb conversion though. I will do the Talon 2Gb front clip, leave my Talon 2Ga sideskirts on and the Talon 2Ga thumbnail spoiler on.

Yeah I couldn't decide if I wanted to keep those side door moldings or not either.

I actually DON'T have it on the driver side right now, cause I replaced the door and it was from a 1995 without the side molding. I just never put it back on yet.

I can't decide what to do...with or without the side swipe? It's hard to tell in this pic but it's NOT on the driver side door. Also the car is in Primer right now so I think the side piece looks worse and more noticeable.

Keep the side strakes or its just gonna be that you have a 95-96. The strakes are what sets our cars apart. Yes they do match up with the lines from the front bumper keep them. Not sure about that thumbnail spoiler though. On the other hand if you want to sell your strakes let me know, They are rare.

Yeah you're probably right, they are rare for sure. I'm painting the car a deep Blue color with Black top so they wont be as noticeable as they are now. When I had the car black you could barely even see them.

I think they look cooler in person. I'm bad at taking pictures and my phone cam sucks

I want to see what those canards look like.. i have always thought that would look cool on a 2gb talon..

i personally dont really like the 2ga talon skirts on talons, i think 2ga eclipse skirts was the best design out of all the styles but thats only my opinioin

me too. 97 Tsi AWD. good luck. I found some but no fender caps. any ideas where i can find just the fender caps? do u know if the 2ga talon and 2ga eclipse fender caps are the same?

2gb Talons had NO side skirts.

Believe it or not I had a cap missing and I MADE one out of some plastic I formed and a lil Bondo filler to give it the right shape hahaha. No one can even tell I made it .

I made mine on the car so I could match everything up. It would be really hard to make one off the car.

What I did was traced the wheel well profile of the other side and transferred it over to the driver side. Then I took a piece of ABS plastic and heated it with a heat gun and bent it to fit the curve somewhat. The rest had to be shaped with filler.
Its NOT perfect but it looks better than a missing cap. I had NO luck finding those either. The 95 Talon Side skirts are SUPER rare and hard to find. I can try to make another set for you but they might need some tweeking to fit YOUR car perfect. Sort of like a bodykit.
