Ok I am in iraq right now and for the past 3 days I have been looking at threads after threads on running the MS, haun portfuler and the safcII. ALOT of people have been saying the Safc wont work cause when your ecu sees the positive boost pressure it cuts fuel? But then I read somewhere else that the 95' model ecu does not do that. Is this correct or am I just crazy?.

I just want to know what I should run in my car. I am new to the import scene (have had nothing but domestics and mud trucks). As far as mods I have (when i get home) I got the slowboy racing short block and mild head work, and some turbo grind cams. obx intake. AEM cam gears. What I am looking for is really anywhere above 300hp maybe 15-20psi. But something that is simple cause there are no tuning shops in my area so things u can do at home. Any help would be appreciated thanks.

Welcome aboard! I can tell you all about my SAFC II experience with a 95...I thought the same thing- Since the 95 isn't affected by positive manifold pressure, the SAFC should work. Unfortunately it doesn't. You can use it to tune idle and KIND OF subtract fuel, but you cannot add fuel at all. It's a very inaccurate way to try and get a tune, especially if you want to get to that 300hp mark.

Megasquirt is your best option. There is a lot of support for it, and many people around here run it (I will be myself soon too). You don't need to have a dyno to tune- A wideband+egt gauge will work just fine.

So I think I finally decided on a Hahn Portfueler just for the simplicity. But does anyone know where I can get one for a decent price? I have looked and cant find anything.

Well be safe in iraq! i just got back in 2008 from kirkuk. Yea mega squirt would be your best bet! i have been reading on mega manual about the aspects of turbo and how to tune and it allows for alot of various tuning to air/fuel mixture.

Well Hahn makes you pay for the simplicity and Hahn is going to be your best bet to buy a new one from. Call them up and ask for a military discount, I have heard of people calling up and complaining about the price to get a discount but just know that it's expensive and a little inferior to MS. I have also seen some in the classified sections in this forum and the 2gnt.com forum. Happy hunting if I see any I will let you know :thumb:

BTW: At Brandon and OP: Hahn will just allow fuel map tunning and additional fuel through the 4 additional injectors while MS replaces your ecu so you can fine tune many things such as fuel map, spark timing, rev limiter and so on. Just FYI.

Yes I know MS you can do a whole lot more, but like I said I want simplicity. As there are almost NO tuning shops where I am at :banghead: I will just control spark with MSD dis II and fuel with the portfueler.
