93 GSX Bone Stock to 400hp

Ok I will start by saying I'm not known on here beside for asking noob questions
Here is my story on my car I bought a 99 GST in Feb of 2012. The car was said to have all these upgrades etc etc bought it from a punk kid. They said only 700miles on rebuild well after the 2nd week of owning it spun a main bearing. The crank and block where garbage. I ordered a engine from ecu warehouse aka bornine2000 from these forums the purchase was off eBay. Trust me learned a lesson there. Engine was not very good after numerous attempts to correct a smoking issue and failing. I then gave up sold out lost my butt but glad I did it.

This now brings me to Today. About 2 months ago I purchased this car.



The car is a 93 Eclipse GSX was owned by a 50 year old from 93 until early 2012. I younger gentleman purchased the car. It was completely stock when I purchased it for $2000 except for a Flow master muffler.

So first thing I did was get a after marked boost gauge. Then a MBC which to me seems flaky but anyway I then just added a wide-band gauge this weekend. Going to rebuild the lower control arms this coming weekend.
The Only noticeable thing with the car is a shake sometimes under braking or slowing down believe it needs tires. Second sometimes a lifter rattles which drives me crazy.

I don't have a lot of money so this is going to be a long pocess for me.
My goal is to use the car as a daily driver while restoring it. I have a 9 yr old boy that I want to give it to with no less than 400hp when he turns 16.

This will be a long project that I want to build it right.

Not sure my next step but I am sure someone has some advice.

Bad idea giving a 16 year old a 400 hp car.

Good luck on the build though, the car looks really clean, I like it. Installing a wideband and getting DSMLink first is a good choice to start with. Where in ND are you? I'm from Minot originally.

Yeah I know the 400 hp to a 16yr old kid is crazy but he is a great kid. I want to keep a promise that I told him he can have the car when he can drive and I want it to be something that he will cherish

I am in Fargo lived here for 12 yrs. Thanks Wanted the wideband because of installing the manual boost controller.

Update nothing exciting to report I did just order the stuff to do datalogging. It was cheap.

No new updates on the build just yet I am working on a plan to have all the engine work and auto tranny build done in Feb. Going to go with a basic .30 over bore Wiseco pistons plan to lower the HP goal to 300hp I want to build a daily driver. Figured 400hp might be a little much. I want the car to be some what of a sleeper.
