Hey I was wondering if any one had any info on if it's possible to put a 1st gen non turbo gauge cluster into a 1st gen turbo car? I did a search and only found info on swapping them the other way around. The reasons I would like to do this is that:

1. The stock turbo gauge is useless(as we all know)
2. I can't seem to find the indiglo overlay for the turbo cluster(the style I want anyway)
any INFO would be appreciated, INFO is all caps cause we don't need all the post of people saying how this might be a stupid idea!!!!!!!

Thanks

I'm sure that's true but I don't want to spend the time looking for a cluster with a close amount of miles compared to my car. (86543mi) so I figure $18 is a pretty good deal.I only paid $500 bucks for the car and its a 5 speed AWD!! Only problem is the cams don't spin???? but when you turn the key motor turns over along with ps a/c Etc, but the cams wont! Got any input on that?

The cogged pulley on the crank has chewed some cogs off the main timing belt. Result is the belt won't turn, but the engine does. I wouldn't turn it over any more until you can get a new belt, get it installed, and timed. You may have lucked out and not done any damage to the valves.

What are the possible causes for the cogged crank pulley doing this? The only thing Iv'e found wrong with the car is the radiator has brown gooey crap in it but that just tells me there's a leak in the head gasket or since its a 91 the oil might be getting in the cooling system through the crapily designed water oil cooler behind the oil filter. so could it have been vapr lock in the head and the cams locked up and the crank kept turning? Iv'e talked to a couple of well known shops (I'm not saying who I don't like to slander) and they said they havn't really heard of the cams locking up like that! I should probably start a new thread about this. Is it possible to tranfer this to another thread or just keep it here?
