Guy I got a question, so I finally fixed my pedal assembly, fawk what a pita, I wasn't able to put my car in gear and I figured since my pedal assembly was shot I replaced the bushings with the good ol shep coppers and maybe it will go into gear, long story short is that i swapped a 90 Turbo engine and trans into my 94 NT dsm, So MY PROBLEM IS my shifter is not in the right place for example...I'm in 2,4, or Reverse gear and my shifter is in the neutral position, now, if I put it in neutral my shifter is on the 1,3, or 5 gear position, there for my car won't go into 1,3,5 gear because it's already in that position but not in that gear, does anyone get where I'm coming from? What could be causing this? Please help, thanks in advance and sorry for the confusion.

To make it work right you will need the 90 shifter assembly and shifter cables. The cables are different lengths and hook to the shifter assemble in a slightly different place to make up for the different length arm on the transmission.

Dam, really? Do I really have to change the assembly? I thought I would've only had to change the cables.

Anybody?

You don't have to change the shifter or cables, just replace the shifter brackets on the transmission with the later model 91-94 shifter brackets. This has been covered before just do a search.

Did you adjust the cables properly? no pun intended. I recently did a 1990 trans into my 92 changed the brackets , barely adjusted the cables and it shifts just fine

I put a 90 engine and trans in a 93 with 90 cables. Trans went out. Then i put a 93 trans in and used the 90 cables. I can take a picture simple bracket made to make it work. Literally took me 5 minutes to cut and bolt on.
