What is the difference between the 6 bolt and the 7 bolt 4G63, and is one better than the other. Thanks Joboy :dsm:

No, it's not up for debate :)

6 bolt is better simply because it's a more reliable motor. 6 bolt is 7.8:1 compression and a 7 bolt is 8.5:1 compression. 7 bolt has oil squirters, and a poorly machined crank.

Thanks for the insight. Now if the 6 bolt is better where can i find one and how hard is swap. Thanks Joboy :dsm:

Well since this thread is still up let me ask this (because I've searched to no avail)
Is there a reliable 4G63 supplier out there? For Honda guys it's hmotorsonline.com but I haven't found a preferered 4G63 motor supplier.
It looks like Nagano is out there supplying motors but let me know where you guys would go for a 1G
Thx

[edit] outside of the classifieds of course; if anyone offers a startup guarantee that would be nice

Don't buy a new motor. All you're going to do anyway is rip it apart and upgrade it. So, I would find a used one and start tearing it up :)
