Ok, so i blew my hg and cyl 1 ring on my 6bolt tsi. Instead of rebuilding that block I found a good deal on a 7bolt 2.3L stroker bottom end. I was wondering if I would be able to use the fidanza flywheel i have on the 6bolt and put it on the 7bolt block. The only difference i've heard on the flywheels is that one has 6 bolts and the other has 7 bolts.

Think about that for a second man.. Thats like trying to put 6 lug wheels on a 5 lug hub.. However, you may be able to use the whole bottem end and just get a 7bolt flywheel. Im not real sure if itd fit with the 1g trans.. So someone with more knowledge on that subject please correct me if Im wrong.

yes you can use the trans. they mount to the engine with the same pattern that is how you can put a 6 bolt in a 2g. but you cant but a 1g tranny in a 2g because of there is no back tranny mount on a 1g and on a 2g there is thats why you can use a 2g tranny in a 1g.
