My mechanic called me and told me hes scared to add all my mods and evo3 turbo without adding some bottom and top end power. Said hes afraid it wouldnt hold in the early stages of breaking in.
He told me hes beefing up the the crank, doing some cam work, and getting all forged pistons.... This made me nothing but happy, because they hold more heat, and are a hell of alot stronger, and its basically making my block a strong ass piece of machinery.
Heres my question:
Would it also be smart to just buy some eagle rods while the blocks open rather then getting them down the line?
I also have the option of getting a FMIC put on right now while the blocks being built and mods are being added back on the new block.
Is there anybody who thinks I should break in the engine first before FMIC and eagle rods? Or would it be better to throw them both in now, and even beef my new block up as much as possible while its out in the open, and set my boost to like 10 psi for the first 1500 miles and baby the hell out of the motor..? I dont see any problem with it, but Id like the input of you gurus.
Appreciate it.
