6bolt crankwalk?

Ok all i have a 91 tsi awd 5speed and my question is can anyone help shoot me in the right direction? well my car was running great till i heard a wierd sound when i let off the gas so i wasnt sure what it was so i parked it. then i was just messing around with it trying to figure out where the noise came from and it sounded like it was the timing belt and i noticed it walking off the cam gears towards the driver side so i replaced the blt and all the goodies involved at a local shop i used to work at. so i started it up and the chatter sound was there so eventually my car died and dropped the tranny and the flywheel broke all 6 bolts and the dowpin was gone. so i drilled the bolts out and reinstalled the flywheel and got a new dow then about 1/2 mile down the road it started to chatter again and then broke it again. any help would be great please!!! thanks in advance:confused::talon::cry:
 
Crankwalk can occur on any type of car. However it doesn't seem to sound like crankwalk, but don't take my word for it. Are you sure the motor isn't knocking?
 
I've seen two 6bolt motors which had "crankwalk". one in particular i could take the crank and move it in an out about 1/8 an inch just by grabbing the crank pulley and pushing/pulling.

car ran fine, or appeared to run ok had low compression in one cylinder too, ended up being scrap metal ROFL
 
I checked the crank i had very min. play in it using a pry bar but i believe that was the damper or whatever tho. The engine made no noises at all like knocking or anything. i just want to know what you all think of my problem on where to start. BTW this all started when i had the act 2600 clutch and street disk installed still has the stock flywheel on it if that helps.?:talon:
 
I dont know how the ACT 2600's are.. But from what I hear if you dont have enough HP.. It's a drivetrain killer.. And i've heard a few cases of clutch chatter stories about them.. But obviously who ever put your clutch it had no clue what they were doing.. Either that or you can't shift..:confused: Not trying to flame or nothing.. Its Just my opinion :thumb:

when you put the pry bar on the crank pulley did you put a gauge on it to see how much the crank shifted?
