I'm running a T3/T4 and I'm about to buy 650cc inj. my question is how will installing these inj. w/ no tune affect the way my tsi fwd runs and idles? it runs good right now but its obvious I need larger inj.. I will be buying dsmlink soon.but that's a few months away. thanks in advance.

i had some 650cc injectors in my gsx with the b16g and it ran like garbage with something that large i would recommend tuning it =/. Its not something you might now wanna hear but yea =[

1) "t3/t4" tells us nothing, what size is the turbo?

2) unless you have something to tune with you are going to be dumping entirely too much fuel.

3) get it tuned, you will save yourself a ton of headaches (personally I dont care, do what you want but I would rather not see someone blow up a perfectly good running 4g63)

thanks for the info. I thought it wouldn't be a good idea w/o dsmlink so i'll wait till I get dsmlimk to install the inj.

If you plan on running a MAFT setup with dsmlink you could get that first and run the 650's off that. Just an idea.

On a side note I was affraid to open this post. I am glad to see both the OP and people really giving helpfull info.

If I were you and I were getting DSM LINK anyway. I would get bigger injectors for future reference. If you know that you're going to be adding more mods to your vehicle, go with 1000+. I have 1000's on my car and tuned with DSM LINK. The 1000 PTE Injectors are only $295.00. And from experience, slap on mods and not tuned, makes no sense and there's just no logical explanation behind that.

Im in the process of buying a EVO III big 16g from extremePSI as well as some 650 injectors, but after reading this last post (bc i eventually want more power). Should I just go with the 1000's because then i can tune it with my DSM link (that i must also get) ?

Everyone has their own opinions about that. Some questions you might want to ask yourself is.

Realistically what kind of power do you want to make.

What kind of fuel do you want to run.

Will I ever add any kind of injection kit.

I keep hearing people tell others to get huge injectors but no matter what tuning system you go with there is disadvantages of using such large injectors if they are not needed. I will say that others are correct in recomending that you get the injectors you need the first time to save yourself the expense of buying larger ones later on. I made the mistake of planning for a 300awhp car. I purchased parts to meet that goal and now I am repurchasing items because 300awhp came and went easily.

i might be getting a dsmlink and 880 injectors for a good price soon, what turbo would you recommend me getting to suit it (remember, ill have 3" IP, 3" exhaust) and obv upgraded fuel pump, etc.

First things you have to do before you buy anything
Set a goal (power) you want to get before buying any parts.
No plan = more money later.

yes u should set a goal on what power level u seek...in canada we can get 94 octane gas with 15% ethonol...thats the gas i use with amazing results ...
my mods are:
big 16g tubo
maft with 3" gm maf sensor 650cc injectors
3 inch down pipe and 3 inch catback
fmic with 3 inch piping
dsmchips ecu with stage 3 chip

thats most of my mods ...so setting a goal will save money. :thumb: :dsm:
