I was thinking about getting either a 55mm TB thats been halved or the Modernperformance.com 60mm TB. However is there that much of a difference? What do you all suggest? Would the 60mm be too big and let too much gas in? I'm leaning towards the 55mm.

well i have frankenstein jeep tb and i bored it and polished it to 60 mm and i definatly felt a little more umpff.plus when i accelerate it makes a cool as sound like it's sucking in all the air from the world :p .sorry got carried away there.I've heard that 60 mm is overkill unless going turbo cuz there's too much air coming in and the air looses velocity going in to the intake manifold, but i don't know how true this is.Also a throttle body does not shoot gas into your engine only air,it's not a carburator.

My buddies have a 77 Trans Am and a 79 Camaro so I think thats where the Carb comment came from. Well if I'm not going for turbo in prolly a looooong time, I should go with the 55 mm TB then right?

I got the 60mm tb, matched the IM to the TB, ported the runners, and gasket matched the IM. I got some SERIOUS power gains from it, and my A/F ratio stays stoich. I'm not running any richer. Go with the 60mm, you will love it. Not only does it flow more air, you can adjust the tension of the throttle cable.

With the 60mm modern performance mated to the stock intake mani, will i see and big difference, or would i have to port the runners and do work on the intake mani??
THanks
