I recently purchased one. I was wondering what in the installation entails. I know once I have it I'll be able to open up my intake manifold up to 60mm (matching), but is it neccessary? If so I know I'll have to take it to my shop to have the work done. If not I'm sure I'll be able to do the work myself. If I have to port-match the manifold, I might as well have it taken off and have it ported and polished. How much does this normally run? And what gains should I expect if I go through the entire process? If porting and polishing the manifold will only add 3-4 ponies I'd rather not waste my time and money, and just save up for my 6A Ignition. Any info is welcomed :thumb: :dsm: :talon: :laser:

* Port matching the new 60mm to the intake mani requires adding material to the "neck" there to prevent you from boring through the sides.

* The 60mm, while ideal for a turbo application, may not be all that you thought it was going to be on an NT car. This would be from the larger diameter causing the volume of air to be moving at a lower velocity than stock. General concensus is that 55-57mm are ideal on an NT.

* You should notice a touchier throttle imo. It all remains to be seen until you get it done.

the whole shibang, TB and P&P intake mani, should give you around 13hp. thats not too bad for a 140hp engine. 9.28% increase in power over stock :thumb:

I just sent my IM to the shop to get the runners ported and the TB opened up to 60mm. It cost me $250. I haven't got my TB yet, when I get it, I'll let you know how much faster it is with the porting.

I'd appreciate that. Right now, my 60mm TB and Ho-Flow Cat are sitting on my dresser because my install money needed be used for something so unimportant as rent money... Cant you believe the nerve?! LoL So I'll have to wait another week or so (next paycheck which should be pretty fat) to get my IM ported and Cat slapped on.

You know its really easy to put a TB on. You could just do it yourself. And if your High Flow Cat is bolt on style, get a can of MAPP Gas to torch the bolts, use a little PB Blaster to break the rust, and switch the cat on your own. See...Free

yo lawdaman.who's doing your port work? need a good machine shop round the area to do those things for my baby.

Nigel at Premier Autotechnics. It's off Palm(47th) and Pines Blvd in the tire kingdom plaza. :thumb:

And installing it myself sounds like a good idea, but I lack... tools. Hard to keep a good stock when you dont own a garage or storage space (live in an apartment heh).
