Toronto,
I'm going turbo in april, but I still gotta a question.

I've looked at our NT Throttle bodies, and they are TINY!
Even though a turbo forces air in, wouldn't a Bigger throttle body yield more power. Like the 60mm From modernpreformance.com, Howell's got them too for $200 instead of $220, but they'd probably take longer shipping it.

So I was still going to purchase the 60mm, unless someone can tell me why it won't matter using some really good points, (I get that forced air is forced in already, but a bigger whole should force more air right?)

I have 60mm MPtb
if you get one I would suggest getting your manifold port matched to the tb
if you don't it probley would not do you much good
because
your manifold and TB will be uneven and that will cause unwanted turblance :dsm:

go with the modern performance one. it comes with new bolts and gaskets, howell's doesnt. havent you read any of the tb discussion? when people argue against a 60mm, they say dont go that big unless your going turbo. bigger is better if your forcing air in.

dont forget the part about needing to port out the intake to get full advantage of the 60mm

at least gasket match because i just happen to have a spare intake manifold in the garage and the hole for the tb measured out to be 54mm

so with a 60 you would have to take a lot of metal off to make a true 60mm straight shot into the engine

this isnt the best pic in the world but it shows you what you are in for as far as grinding goes

Okay, just another quick question, say I don't go turbo, What would be wrong if I put the 60mmTB on? What if I gasket match, and port the intake manifold as well?

What's wrong with more air flow? Nothing IMO.. If you are going turbo in the future you better do it now. Take the intake manifold and the throttle body to a machine shop and have them port and polish it. Make sure that they smooth out the injector humps and polish the rough surface inside the manifold. They should only charge you a couple of hours because the manifold seperates into two pieces, thus making it easier to port and clean egr off of it.

After you do this..you are going to think..I should port the head to match the larger ports in the intake manifold. It never ends
