Ok i recently got my GST 3 weeks ago, its approaching the 60k mark and i was wondering if you recommend taking it to a local shop here in socal - there's a pretty decent one near where i live, but i was also wondering if i should take it to my local satan - in my case, that would be Ontario Mitsubishi, Pomona Mitsubishi, or even Norco Mitsubishi (Freeway Mitsubishi is not an option cuz they rip you off). The car, according to the records i was given, has been serviced regularly at satan and it seems to be ok. Anyway, thanks in advance.

60K MILES ON A 97! OMG
When it was time for mine, I took mine to my in town mechanic just for the timing belt. As long as all the other belts are fine you can do the rest yourself; clean your air filter, new plugs and wires, tranny fluid, oil change, check your brakes and C.V. boots while your down there, and your done.

Like what turbolarry said ^^^^

I bought my timing belt and accessory belt together with all the needed parts and took it to Duane to have them installed.

The other general inspection items and fluid changes, you can do it yourself.

alright thanks guys. so its the timing belt that'll probably be the most expensive then. As for the transmission fluid, what do you guys recommend?
and yeah, i actually have only 55k miles and change - it was previously owned by a 58-year old chiropractor lady who hardly drove it because she had multiple cars.
