Hey there everyone, Im kind of confused I am due for the 60K service and I dont know what exacly I need I was on the slowboy racing site and darn they sell like a million things for timing and they say all are crucial, so I dont know what I really need. Also I dont have alot of money to spend on this and my mechanic is doing it for 50 bucks so hes saving my butt there.

The really crucial things are: Timing belt, Balance shaft belt, Hydraulic auto tensioner, and water pump.

Inspect the pulleys, and see if they bind up at all, or have any markings on the surface as this may over time eat into the belt.

But the 4 things above are the most crucial.

If you haven't already, please print out the VFAQ on how to change the T-Belt for your mechanic. http://www.vfaq.com/mods/timingbelt-2G.html

Also, to save more cash, forego replacing the waterpump unless your coolant is real dirty.
The interval for replacing a waterpump is at 120k.
I'm at 56k, and I'm in the middle of doing my T-Belt/BSE.
When I drained my coolant, it looked like Lime Kool-Aid.
I chose not to replace my water pump at 60k.
This will be my 4th T-Belt, and 3rd BSE, so I kinda know my way around if the WP fails on me before my next T-Belt at 120k.

Make sure and have your mechanic check all pulleys like the other guys mentioned.
Also, have your fuel filter changed.
While you're in there replacing your fuel filter, might as well install some Energy Suspension motor mount inserts on the rear roll stop mount.
You're a GST, so this will help calm down some wheel hop.
The front roll stop mount is cake.

$50..... Either you're mechanic is a really nice guy, or he doesn't have a clue what he's about to get into.

Best of luck to you and your GST....

Thanks alot man really helpful, yeah my mechanic use to built talons and is very good with dsm's If any of you have any good places to were to get all the stuff I need at a good price. For right now im not replacing the water pump my water is real clean. I only have like 200$ so any help would be appreciated.

Some good things to replace while you are there: Camshaft Seals, Front Main Seal and Balance Shaft Seal.

A couple of mine were leaking and they are easy to replace. So I just replaced them while I was there.

Change the harmonic balancer (crank pulley) since these have a tendency to take a crap every 60-70K miles by developing cracks and potentially separating.

He only has $200 bones to spend on this guys, although, many others searching can benefit from this thread as well.
Camshaft seals, would require a valve cover gasket set.
B-Shaft seal, Crankshaft seal, and the oil pump seal are a must while you're in there.
