is 600hp unreasonable for a daily drive/race car. it would be a 6bolt 2.3 stroker

and are all these things needed for a 6bolt swap
ACT Flywheel
Mitsu Factory New Cam Sensor
1G Intake
Gasket Kit
Water Pipe / Water Outlet
Thermostat Housing
Timing Belt Cover
6 Bolt Oil Filter Housing

Not trying to be a dick, but if you're a newbie, yes.

An experienced mechanic, tuner, and driver could get away with it without problem. It's just a matter of proper maintenance and being aware of what's going on. If something goes wrong on a 600whp car you cannot neglect anything or it will bite you in the ass or possibly kill you depending what it is. I see kids driving around 13 and 14 second deathraps all the time, only reason they don't crumble to pieces is because they don't have enough power to tear them apart. I'd shoot for 400 for a daily driver. I've built a lot of 400ish whp daily drivers for customers and it seems to be a good solid daily driven hp area.

600whp is A LOT, and you will need to do A LOT.... 400whp is a safer bet for pump gas, 600whp will require E85 or race fuel, as well as a good tune and a very large turbo w/ lot of lag! :)

I wouldn't use a 1G intake, I would go with a Sheet Metal Intake Manifold (SMIM) since you are going to be wanting to do some higher RPM's. For the 2.3 stroker, you'll probably want FP2X or FP3X cams too, since the 2.3 will need/want more air.

You have a lot of planning and thinking to do, don't rush or you will end up breaking something or spending more than you anticipated.

I dont plan on this build anytime soon. I was just asking if that was unreasonable and this build wont be done until I get done with college (to be a mechanic)

I almost feel a properly setup 16g car should be a requirement before you're allowed to run a larger turbo. I see too many people with big money setups running 13's. Start small and build from there.

I completely agree with you on that one. Many people underestimate a 16g powered car, I mean with the right mods, good tune and some good driving(takes practice) you could reach the 12sec quarter mile range. Many guys on this forum have high hp cars, but I am willing to bet that their current setup is not one they built from the start.

Actually the OP said it was going to be 2.3L, that coupled with maybe a 35r and some alchy injection (along with the usual mods, smim, cams, fuel etc.) it shouldn't be that laggy. People on these forums report 20 psi by 4000-4200 rpm on a 2.0 with the 35r so the stroker would help that but then again it also depends on your definition of lag. Laggy to me is 20 psi by 4500rpms and up!

And I realize the cams and SMIM will make it more laggy but 600hp is almost near the limit of the 35r so they would help and besides that much power coming on too early is capable of spinning all 4 tires from first or second gear, My friends 50trim powered car could spin all fours in first gear.

Definitely. Plus you may be happier with a 400hp daily than a 600hp daily. I can't imagine the lag

this is quite possible I will just have to see. the car will most likely stay stock for awhile depending on what I want to do im thinking of just doing a 6bolt swap and maybe little upgrades (intake, exhuast, ect..) until im done with school

To be honest, my car was a lot more fun on a small 16g than it is on my Green. It's obviously faster now, but it was more enjoyable on the 16g.

600whp for a 4g63 with a turbo is possible without a 2.3 stroker and would require more things then what you stated i.e., fully buillt blueprinted block, race transmission, smim, fmic, etc... And if it was a 600whp car, I wouldn't see why anyone would use it as a daily car with race fuel, high boost, track tires, etc...

Definitely do-able, but you better have a deep pocket book. My friend Jon has a 2.0 GT35r powered 2g that he drives around daily. Hell he drove it to Chicago for business, then to the shootout where it trapped 129.95 on E85 and a splash of c16 to be safe. Car put down 592awhp at AMS last year.

Indy to Chicago to Norwalk to Indy. My butt is sore from driving but the car made it. :)

The worst part is trying to keep E85 in the tank and keep fuel trims in line. E85 varies greatly station to station. I was lean going to Chicago then rich all the way home.

A 400-500 WHP tune would be a lot easier to live with on a daily basis. Not near as fun though. ;)

i keep reading on here that you guys say it takes deep pocket books to get these cars fast...just how deep are you guys talking about...haha ive spent the past year building my twinscroll 35r powered srt-4 and ive recently picked up a 95gst...after doing some looking around and a lot of research, the gst is going to cost me half as much in parts as it did my srt...granted the gst has been around longer and parts are cheaper because there are soooo many more vendors...

300hp in a daily driven car is a great number. Any higher and you might as well build it as an all out drag car.

Alot of it is in keeping it running. Actually building the car can be respectably cheap, but alot of old little parts will nickle and dime you to death and then of course one of the little guys will cost you something big.
