Do you know how many volts the stock coils put out?

There are plenty of 600hp+ cars out there on stock coils.

Really good find a local is making 600+ on a DJ and having some weird misfiring issues and that find might of saved him some coin, hell there are a few around here that might be able to use that.

<---617awhp, stock coils, $26 advance auto wires, no misfires.

^one guy. awesome.

Come on man, you know not everyone is the same, but I do understand that you guys are saying " hey, stock coils are perfectly capable" I understand that.

I know CB did the same thing, made 650 pump, 781 race with 2g coil and some advance wires.

Then what makes you think its the coils? It could be the wires or plug gap etc... If you get to that point, you are better off getting an arc-2 and calling it a day.

That guy Aaron's (turbotalon1g) referring to is me. He knows the issue with my car, because he knows me and my car. We already took the simple things into consideration.

Just because Car A made X hp on a stock ignition, doesn't mean Car B will. Every car is different, there are variables that make every car different. Mine was working just fine weeks ago, but it appears the plugs are fouling out prematurely. The most likely cause I see right now, is a weak ignition/spark. Weak spark = premature plug fouling = miss-firing at high rpm/boost levels. What is the root cause of a weak spark? That's what I'm in the middle of figuring out at the moment.

So as of right now, it appears I am just running on the edge of what MY stock ignition is able to do. So instead of just running on the edge for years to come, how about I nip it in the butt upgrade it so I don't have to worry about it ever again.

So now here I am, researching all of my options, so I can decide which upgrade best suits me. Best does not = most expensive to me. Best means I do my research, look at ALL options out there, and find a good compromise between function, cost, and reliability. This may be one option for me. We shall see.

And since you asked, my wires are Taylor 10mm's with maybe 5k miles on them, and I highly doubt are my issue at this point. Plugs are BPR7ES's. Tried a .020 and a .018 gap. Still miss-firing, and I'm not going any smaller then .018 as I feel that is getting to be too small. Running 35psi and miss-firing is occuring around 7k RPM, @ 541awhp on a dyno dynamics (628awhp on a dyno jet).

Again, what works for Car A doesn't always work for Car B. I'm 5psi higher then you. How is your charging system? I'm still on the stock 91 alternator from the factory. Could that also be enhancing my issue? It's possible.

There are other variables to take into account other then just peak HP numbers.

And to the OP - Good find, thanks for the info!

I'm on the stock alt. as well. I'm not saying that stock stuff works for everycar, but stock stuff is certainly known to have made power.
