My car runs perfectly fine until i get around 5k-6k then the check engine light comes on and i feel like im losing power. I used a pocket scanner and got a code saying it was something to do with my throttle position sensor, but i'm not sure if i can just adjust it somehow or if i need to replace it and the pigtail completely? any help or assistance with this issue would be very much appreciated.

Unplug TPS. Use an analog (needle) ohmmeter and check that the resistance between pins 2 & 4 (where brown-red and black wires go) changes smoothly while you turn the throttle all the way up.

I have done so and it seems to go up smoothly and maxes out at 6k ohms at wot. is that where its supposed to be at? but i still have problems at around 5k still
