is there any point in putting on 550 injectors without having the fuel pump yet?

i plan on it only being temp, did you feel any diff in hp with 660's no pump?

The stock pump can't even out flow your stock 450's, if you are going to get a pump soon and you have some sort of air fuel controller then go for it, don't expect ANY gains yet.

ya i really do plan on it, my only prob is its coming out of a 1g and i have not had the time to take it out yet, LOL it looks kinda complicated to! but to day i got the injectors and we all know how easy its is to install them so i more less wanted to know if its worth my time or do i wait? also if i do what should i lean out the afc to? thanks for the help guys

I see no point in putting the 550's without a pump unless you're maxing out your stock injectors with the stock pump, which is highly unlikely. If you don't know already, you will need some form of fuel control to compensate for the 550's; otherwise, she'll run like crap, if at all.

Replacing the pump is just as easy as replacing injectors. Just follow the "how to" on vfaq. It is important that you use the proper size wrenches......this will make the job much easier. If you are as lucky as i was, it will break free with little effort. Good luck!

As far as leaning the afc, start around -15 at idle and watch your trims on a logger (which you should have if you are modding). Here is a great post on how to tune your afc. http://dsmtuners.com/forums/showthread.php?t=58403

yes i have all the other supporting mods except the fuel pump, afc, data logger, injectors, just dont have hte time for the pump just yet, i suppose ill hold off, its not like im dieing witout them, just trying to avoid high levels of knock.

how much of a gain am i looking at witht he fuel redone? 550's and a 255? im looking for some pretty signifacant gains and im not sure which route to take. Seems like all the expensive shit is all thats left.

It shows on your profile that you have the 255hp i wonder what are you waiting for, How could you run 16g with stock injectors?....

Apparently you CAN run 16g with stock injectors, and so he does it and the mystery is solved! Now without the fuel pump may be another question.

My friend's G-VR4 on the STOCK re-wired pump.

RPM------IDC-450s------IDC-560s(Pull 1)-------IDC-560s(Pull 2)

3594-----46.78%--------38.20%----------------39.00%
4094-----57.66%--------46.00%----------------43.70%
4469-----66.74%--------53.10%----------------53.10%
5375-----84.84%--------65.60%----------------64.00%

As you can see, the 560s aren't needing to work nearly as hard as the 450s. His IDC with the 450s actually peaked to 98.01% at 6563 rpms. My IDCs were very, very similar to his before he put in his 560s actually, since we both had about the exact same mods. I think it is very important that you log your car to know what's going on. From his results, I believe that you can see a difference with 550s still with your stock pump, mostly from turning up the boost, but safely turning it up, not going crazy, another reason why a logger is a must. He hasn't turned his up yet since a new pump will be going in very shortly. One other thing, I'm sure you know, and it has been said, but you will need something to compensate for the 550s if you decide to put them in, just a reminder.
