500hp fuel injectors

ok. so i looked and looked and i found that i need 1000cc FI's to get 500hp. i want little over that. so i have several questions..
1. What size fuel injectors do i need?
2. How does fuel injector size affect mileage?
3. how would ecmlink help me have good mileage?


i travel far to school thats why miles per gallon is such a big issue

Theres a bit of math involved but read this tech article a few times so you completely understand it. You don't want to spend $300+ on a set of injectors to find out you should have gone bigger. http://www.dsmtuners.com/forums/articles-engine-fuel/71330-fuel-injector-sizing.html

The above articles assume your going to run gasoline NOT ethanol, if your going to run ethanol theres a completely different formula to decide what injectors your going to want to run.


Fuel injector size doesn't effect gas mileage/driveability until you get a bigger 1600cc+ injector. Dsmlink won't "help" you get good gas mileage, its what you can do in dsmlink like compensating for the bigger injectors your running. Its not going to HELP with gas mileage though, its going to help you get your car running/idling like it has a stock fuel system when really you've got 1200cc injectors.

If the car is your DD then get tried and true info from people running the same setup cause tuning big injectors can take a while. I recently tuned lucas 1200cc injectors with the 98-99 ecu. I tried 3 different latency values before using my own to get them right.
