Hey,

I tried searching to find my answer, but the damn thing edits out 50 b/c its too common.

I was wondering how many of you are running a 50-trim on a stock 7-bolt??

Had any problems??

What PSI are you running at??

Thanks,

Eric

Many a stock 7 bolt bottom have made 500+whp without issue.

50 trim wont make 500whp, unless you are at 28ish psi and have evey supporting mod in the book. It simply has a hard time flowing enough on our motors.

Answer the question for you?

I think he was looking for real experience, peak numbers and what the majority have had luck running are two totally different things. I would like to imagine that some have bvlown a 7bolt with a 16g while some run 3065's and have no problems. hell I would like to beleive that my 7bolt bottom end could hold 500hp without destorying the front of my car when it goes but chances are the majority of them won't. As for 50trims I have one in a 60-1 housing(more laggy but more top end) im running 24-25psi on 91 with no problems at all. I suggest running ARP headstuds as well just to get from getting head float and blowing a headgasket.

i am running a 50 trim on a 2g 7 bolt.. stock t/b, intake, head, head bolts, cams, block, etc.. turbo is wearing the .63 housing w/ stage 3 turbine. dyno'd 355 whp at 20 lbs on 93 octane.. will be dynoing again this coming saturday.. only thing that has been added to the mix since the last dyno is a 'hard S' upper intake pipe, water injection, and 2 more lbs of boost... hope to hit at least 375 whp.. that is until i rip the head off for some arp bolts and up the boost to 24-26 lbs... hope this helps...

p.s.~, only problem has been (even w/ the evo 16g) is no traction, all the way through 3rd... that's why i just picked up a 2g awd talon.. for what it's worth, the evo 16g dyno'd 307 whp at 20 lbs on pump. later..

i like to drive the piss out of my Talon. that is no joke. but i paid the price last year at norwalk. my 50 trim on the 1st run threw my rod. it sucked. and it also crank walked. damn turbo.

I dyno'd 347 @21 psi but with only 13 degrees of peak timing in 99F heat. I have stock head, bottom end etc, but do have cams. You shouldn't have a problem so long as you watch your knock.

Stock longblock, 22psi daily, no problems at all.
Like many others have said. It's all in the tuning.

The turbo had nothing to do with your crankwalk.

update... just got back from the dyno day.. boost @ 22 psi, my set-up produced this:
base line: 358.01 whp, 309.35 tq
2nd pull, leaning out the mix 5% from 5000 rpm to 7400: 380.12 whp, 323.37 tq
3rd pull, leaning out 3% more at 5000 rpm only: 379.70 whp, 328.15 tq
tuning was done via safc and wideband, on pump gas (93)..

just wanted to thank Garry (SPEED INJECTED) for his expertise, as well as Brendon and Jay (vertgst and gstjay), for organizing/holding the dynoday again.. shout-outs to my crews from miamidsm and so.fla.dsm..

update your profile if you now have a 50trim.
What kind of timing were you seeing?
