Hi. I just had a timing belt put on my 96 eclipse gs (420a). They did a compression test and here is what they found per cylinder 1=175 2=175 3=125 4=75
What could be causing the low compression on the 4th cylinder? and will it be ok to drive with that low of compression on the 4th cylinder? Oh, and the reason i had the timing belt relpaced is because it skipped teeth. So maybe it is a bent valve? and if that is the case is it ok to drive? i just drive it from work and back. thank you.

cylinder 3 isnt looking too great either. Could be a bad headgasket? or some bent valves/timing?

but is it safe to drive just to work and back with low compression? wont low compression make it run rough??

With compression that low, I wouldnt recommend driving it. Thats all your going to do is mess things up more. Is it leaking any fluid? Burning any fluid?

its not leaking or burning fluid i don't think. one day it threw a code and i checked it and it said timing belt skipped 1 or more teeth and misfire on cylinder 4. before then it ran perfect. so i had the timing belt and acessory belts done today at the mitsu dealership and they told me those compression numbers. im guessing that when it skipped the teeth it threw it out of time and bent a valve and that's whats causing the low compression? so should i pull the head buy valves and take it to a machine shop? because i don't think i can fry a ring by jumping time, can i?
