I have a '95 Mitsubishi Mighty Max with a 4g64 in it. I am in the process of piecing together a cheap kit for it and was wondering if I am going to have to recirculate the BOV back into the intake b/c of the MAF?

Some more info would be helpful. Are you going to run the stock MAF before the turbo? Or in the charge pipe?

Are you serious? Obviously the MAF sensor would connect to the intake of the turbo!

I really don't know how your Mighty Max has your intake sensor at but I will tell you that if you have your MAF sensor (towards air filter) before your bov you will have to recirculate it.

Using a 2G MAS then yes you will have to recirculate.

There is always the possibility of having a GM sensor in the IC piping however, which allows you to circulate or vent. The setup is called GM MafT "blow through" style as opposed to "draw through" before the turbo. It can be run either way.

.

Is the GM MAF plug and play?

I guess you would consider my truck a 2g Might Max but it's OBD1 so I think it's all 1g Eclipse stuff.

Apparently I didn't phrase my question correctly. Running the stock sensor would require the BOV to be recirculated. Running a blow-through set up using a GM MAF and a Translator box would allow venting to atmosphere, and is quite common on DSM's. But you would already know that if you used the search funtion on the site. :thumb:

1. I'm a Honda guy.

2. there are so many people on here that have a mighty max that it's not even listed on the message board

3. did you sense the sarcasm in number 2?

4. i had no idea what search terms to use or I would've searched!

5. Thanks and have a nice day, GOODBYE!

By "in the process of piecing together a cheap kit for it", I'm assuming you mean that you're building a turbo kit for it, and that it's currently a non-turbo 4g64, am I correct? If so, then yes, you will need to recirculate the BOV as long as the MAF is before the BOV. If you use a GM Maf in the upper intercooler pipe, then you can vent to the atmosphere. I'm told that the old VPC system also allows you to recirculate, as well as switching to a MAP sensor, though I think that's not very common.

Please try to be more specific the next time you ask a question, since it helps us understand where you're coming from and what your goals are. If we all work to keep confusion to a minimum, threads will progress much smoother with more information in them.

The reason that the Mighty Max isn't listed when you sign up is because technically it's not a DSM.
