Ok so went to the junkyard today, wanting to replace my lifters, because they are the 1st gen with the small pin hole on the top so i cant clean them without removing the bottlecap top.
So went to the junkyard looking for any colts or avenger or stealths, but found nothing and had to go to the hyundai section, found one with the same engine as the 4g64 in those cars. I am wondering what will work, I took the lifters, rocker arms aswell as the springs.
The lifters look exact same except for the bigger hole on the top where the rocker arms attach to, Is it ok to use these lifters?aswell as the rocker arms? (the springs seemed more narrow so im just guessing they wont work but they have alot more strength to them then the original ones I have)
this is just a temporary fix until I can get a proper 2g head for my 2g block, When I get the head im looking for the plan is to get all new lifters/valves/maybe 272 kelford cams and springs. Just very tight budget wise right now and am wanting to get my engine in and running so I can drive it a little bit before winter.

Actually from pics and what people are saying on that thread you posted, its showing smaller lifters than what comes in 1g and 2g heads stock, the ones i pulled out of a kia optima are the exact size and height lifters as the 4g63 6 bolt and 7 bolt, only difference is the oil hole size on the top and in the middle of the lifter.
Aswell if you read the whole thread you would of seen the last post that says, "astleast on the 2g 4g64 they are the same as the 4g63 not sure about the 3rd gen though"
seems the rocker arms are the same aswell

2g and 3g 4g64s have the SOCH head and both use different lifters than then the DOCH 4g63. When people say 3g lifters they are referring to the 3rd revision of the lifters not the 3g car. 3g lifters came in the late model 2g turbo eclipse.

The 4g64 SOHC has the lifters in the rocker arm and the rocker arm is mounted on a shaft, the cam is below the rocker arms.

The 4G63 DOHC, use a HLA that mounts in the head casting, and the followers rest on the tip of the valve and the top of the HLA, with the cams on top.

Both Kia and Hyundai both have clone engines of the Mitsubishi 4G63
