4g63 or 4g67????

i have a 1992 mitsubishi eclipse GS non turbo but my mechanic says its engine is 4g67 (as its written on it) not a 4g63!!!! if i have a 4g67 then my car is a 1.8L or a 2.0L?? btw my engine is DOHC 16 valve.

A 92 Gs should have a 4g63 engine. A 1.8L engine is SOHC and not DOHC. Perhaps you're mechanic made a mistake???

but what if my engine is replaced with a 4g67??? my engine is japanese as he said.. as i found on the net the 4g67 are 1.8 DOHC 16 valve engine!!!! but how come my ECU is MD166255 that is for a 4g63NT and it is working on the 4g67 engine???

Not all 92 GSs have a 4G63 engine. I had a 92 GS with that had a 1.8L SOHC 4G37 in it.

but the hyundai engine is tagged hyundai i think not a mitsubishi...anyway my engine is DOHC not SOHC and the Mitsubishi company said its a 4g67 japanese engine and no wonder where it came from!!!

just wanna know if am runing a 2.0 engine or not! thats what really intrest me coz am gonna tune this engine up and build a turbo for it but need to check if its a 2.0 coz the 1.8 isnt worth it to plug turbo on it.

If your engine is down or you have the exhaust manifold off, check the engine number stamped on the block near the #1 cylinder. That would tell you if you have a 4g63 or 4g67. If you do have a 4g67 then it probably came from a JDM E35A Galant or a Mitsu Colt Gti.
