Would you have to flip the stock block? How would you control the rotating assembly? It would probably be easier putting the whole evo mivec motor in your car. IMO

In short, no you cannot. You'll need a lot more money then it'd ever be worth.

i dont want to thread hijack but i gotta ask, can somebody(not me) take a mivec motor and make an AWD out of a 99 eclipse GS or RS since they have the motor turned 180'? im just asking so EVERYBODY DON"T FLIP OUT im not going to do it LOL

Yopu can do an evo motor in a non 4g63 car..But everything is on the other side on the 4g63 cars so it would be almost impossible..

The evo's are swapped the other direction, with timing belt on the passenger side, just like the 2G n/t's. I don't see where anyone said anything about the timing components being on the OTHER SIDE of the engine/head. :tease:

It has been done. There is a thread here somewhere but I dont remember the title at all.

That kinda what I said besides the timing components..The intake faces the drivers side, and the timing components are on the passenger side..

My mom has this same 4g63 in her hyndai..Besides the mivec and the turbo and what not..

I found the reference, after a little searching. It's not exactly an tech manual for those who want to do it, but it seems like a good way to get started.

Gofer originally brought it to the forums:
Gofer's initial reference post

There is a brief discussion about it, with pictures (some which have been removed), initiated by x97dsmx on dsmtalk:
DSM Talk thread about swapping evo 4g63 into 2g GS/RS

Again, not a lot of detail about how to do it precisely, but x97dsmx did leave his contact information in the other thread.

Thanks to gofer and x97dsmx (dsmtalk) for bringing that up for everyone.

Matt
