4g63 megasquirt 1 extra users,come on in!

i just ordered ms1 with the v3 board.anyone else running this setup? if so can i take a look at your .msq file and have any tips for me?imthinking ill splice into the stock harness,and im going to get a wide band for it.how far down did you mount your wbo2,and what type are you running?

I dont have a 4g63 but I do run MSnS so I may have some tips for you. I have my WB in the rear o2 sensor location but having it in the downpipe would be better. The closer to the turbo the better, your sensor will react faster at idle. Just dont mount it too close. I use the JAW WB with no problems at all but some people do have problems with this one so you may not want to chance it.

Splicing into the ECU harness is no problem just make sure to solder the connections well. Since the 4g63 motor runs a resister pack stock you will have to set your injectors to high-Z so go ahead and run a high resolution code on MS. This gives you much more control over PW and will idle big injectors better. I run code 1c11.

I built one and verified its operation with the stimulator but I havent got my 2g going, waiting on paint.

I think there are quite a few people running megasquirt. My friend and I both run it on our Talons. We both run hi-res 10e code. That was the newest when we were upgrading last time so we stuck with it. Both of our cars are running great, they are daily drivers and run E85. The biggest downside as I see it to megasquirt is no knock sensor.

The knock sensor does suck but isin't a big deal. I tune mine by ear with det cans and tell MS to pull timing over 125* intake temps so I dont worry about knock even on hot days.

Dan I will have to look at my settings. Its hard to get the JAW WB readout to match MS's but I finally managed to after a while so I will tell you what setting should be best for accuracy.

Set your MS wideband to -00056 # set INNOVATE_LC1_DEFAULT "Innovate LC-1 default, 0-5v = 0.5-1.5 lambda"

Then go to your Jaw setting and set Vout2 to LC1. Your Jaw and MS should be reading pretty close now.

Did you order the parts from futurelec like their site recommends? I ordered some parts from there and it wasn't very long before my credit card started get fraudulent charges from the same area. Had to cancel it and swore off ordering directly from asia anymore.

There are quite a few Evo people over on the evolutionm forums that are running their widebands in the stock position on the o2 housing with no problems. I have mine mounted in the stock 2nd o2 location, and will be moving it because of the super slow reaction.

DO NOT ORDER A JAW WIDEBAND. read this from his own website.maybe this thing is in the mail, but his comunication with people who have paid for this thing suck. not to mention the thiland guys ripping folks off when we go tobuy all the parts to build it .Hi And my Apology.

ok, paypal said the thing shipped,what exactly shipped i dont know.im guessing the new naw wideband, but ill be the guiniepig for megasquirt and a dsm,not to mention the $20 in parts i ordered from the shady thiland company that i wont need for the new naw wb.great.ill post back when i get it,but im guessing i just wasted $60 on the controller and $60 on the sensor that i wont need when i order a complete wb.

I have that knock sensor for my megasquirt rx7, but I read a few threads that it did not work well for people.

I ordered my jaw over a year ago and it took 2-3 weeks to get it. Alan is really back up now and is a little slow getting the boards out. He is a good guy, have you tried sending him an email? I know he has given some people their money back after a while if they wanted it.

another megasquirt user here

I have a 90 running 1600cc injectors, a1000 fuel pump and a gt35r. Its running an MS1/Extra with 10G high res code. So far its just been driven no boost yet but i can say the drivability is pretty awesome

Its been an amazing learning experience for me and i also have a buddy whose building one too so its fun.

Mobythevan and Ajax have helped me out with some msq's and info along the way so just saying thanks to all those guys
