Im planning on turboing my 420a this spring.and plan on piecing together my own kit.and just want to make sure this is about everything ill need to put a basic turbo kit on my 420a.Im going to only run like 7-8 psi on stock engine.and i have complete 420a im planning on doing a full build up on.then ill swap out engines and turn up the boost. of course then ill upgrade the injectors and fuel management system to mega sguirt or something better suited for higher boost.also do i need to run bigger injectors if only boosting 8 psi.from what Ive read i can get away with stockers at that psi.but will have to upgrade when going for more than 8 psi.is this correct?the stock engine Im turboing has had an complete overhaul and has good compression.and Im going to put an cosmic head gasket and new head bolt set on before adding the turbo to the engine.

im not sure if my o2 is a wideband or not.its an autozone bosch replacement.so will i need to get an wideband 02.and why do i need a wideband 02 for?is it for the air fuel ratio guage?

Looks good man, i recently did mine couple simple easy things i would also reccomend would be to relocate the battery to the trunk and maybe some polyurethane motor mounts. Moving the battery just to give you more room. Polyurethane mounts are if you drive it hard (boosting 8lbs ripped a mount) just some ideas.

a Walbro255 fuel pump will over run your stock FPR. I suggest ditching the 12:1FMU and getting the SFMU and also some bigger injectors. If you get the SFMU you will need to run a retune fuel line to the tank. What are you using that oil filter adapter for? Are you planning on running your oil lines from the oil filter?

It seems you have most of everthing you need. A wideband would be nice but not fully necisary.

whats wrong with posting in multiple forums?i figure its the best way to get the most input on my questions.and i get different answers from guys on the other forums.i like to get all the info and suggestions i can.so i know what all im getting into before i do it.so i can do it the right way the first time.and not #### things up.ive never done a turbo on the 420a.so wasn't sure on what fuel system to go with when i turbo my [email protected] put a turbo on a first gen talon with the 4g63 for my cousin.but it was allot easer to upgrade the fuel system on the talon.we had an gsx for parts.so we just swapped out the ecm and injectors.cant do that on my 420a.so i have to go a different route with the fuel system upgrade.but now im pretty sure im going to go with the 8 injector setup.mega squirt seems to be to advanced for me right now.i don't know how to build my own map curves.and dont have the cash to pay a tuner shop to do it for me.plus ide rather do it all myself.im pretty mechanically inclined and can or will figure out any problem i run across.of course ill probly have some help from guys in forums like this one.but in the end i all ways achieve what i set out to do.plus this is a project car im turboing.its not my daily driver.i really don't have a whole lot of money in the car.i have alot more wrench time in it than anything.when i bought the car it was tee boned and side swiped on the other side.i got the body work pretty well done.overhauled the engine when timing belt went.and have about all the bolt on stuff i can put on it.the only thing left to do for more power it to go turbo.and i have another 420@ in going to build up.but i want to run turbo on the stock engine till i get the other built.if i blow the stocker before the other 420a is done then the car will sit till its ready to go in.i have 4 kids so i cant sink all my cash into the car at one time.i have to do it alittle at a time.but one day she will be the way i want her.i would like to thank all the guys who responded to my threads.all the suggestions and input has been a big help.i really appreciate it alot.i love forums like this one.thanks again guys.:)

First off...please learn a little punctuation, spacing, capitalization, etc LOL.your post was very hard to read.that probably won't be tolerated much on this forum.know what i mean?now that we got that outta the way, we may proceed.

Your lists seems pretty good. The fuel setup you have: walbro 255, 12:1 fmu, stock injectors...will work just fine at 7psi for your current goals with the vehicle. Then, as stated, you can later upgrade when the spare block is ready.

Please help me...wtf is that glow shift oil filter adaptor? A sandwich adaptor I'm assuming? If so, throw that part of your list out the window, and just tee off your factory oil pressure sending unit location for a feed line/gauge source.

Also, ditch the silly narrowband o2 blinky light gauge you were planning to get, and change that out for an oil pressure gauge. If you're only running a dual gauge pod...that and boost would be the ones I choose. The fuel setup you'll be using is very consistent, not like it's adjustable and you can just tweak your fuel pressure, injector pw, etc. This disclaimer however, is not saying that going out and buying a wideband o2 system is a bad idea haha.

Lastly, and most importantly...prepare for the unexpected because it always happens. Besides that, good luck :thumb:

oops, just found some more in that jumble of yours...

Don't get that "cosmic" head gasket or what not, go to the Chrysler dealership and get the newest version of the OEM Multi Layer Steel head gasket.

I also didn't notice any exhaust on your list, so at least 2.5" piping all the way back would be good if that's included under "hardware" for the turbo.

As far as the wastegate goes, I'm guessing you're going external since it's listed separately...just make sure you don't get the wrong spring, boost setting. Even with your freshly overhauled engine components, it only takes one time to go BOOM...you can trust me on that one ;)

Well I gave you all the info you needed on one forum and you had never answered back. Then I see you posting the same exact thing on multiple forums like I hadn't even answered your question. Made me pretty feel pretty irritated that I took the 5-10 min to research myself and type it up to help you out and then you go off on other forums to ask the same thing which I had already answered. Whatever though.

my bad dude didn't mean to piss you off or anything.the reason i dint respond back is because i get email notification on some forums im a member of and not on others.i have been setting up my profiles and updating my preferences and email.I am rely grate full for. the help and input you and other members give me.im still figuring out my way around all the 420a,NT,DSM,avenger,eclipse, forums there all setup differnt.the reason i use them all is to get the most input i can.and take all that everyone tells me.and decide what is the best route for me and my situation.and i have a 19 day old baby girl to take care of.so sometimes i have to drop what im doing and see to her needs.so sorry i didnt get to respond back to your reply to my post.and was able to reply to others in other forums.:coy:

You've still yet to fix your grammar, spelling, punctuation issues...it's quite annoying to read your posts. :toobad:

I just hope all your threads on these multiple forums have actually helped.

Everyone has a different style of communication when they post. Many people who post for the first time lack the use of punctuation due to texting format and using AIM. Cut the guy a break. If it really gets your goose you could always not read his posts. Also if you need any help with the install I did mine December of 2007. I have lots of pictures and a blog detailing many steps. The 420a on my blog has been boosted 5 months flawlessly. It ran 4-5 psi boost and now I will run 7-8 psi as soon as I install my sensors that can read boost pressure and Apexi S-AFC2. I found that Motorola makes a boost pressure sensor that operates in our voltage range. I highly recomend to invest in this sensor. The sensor costs about $30 , but without it you will never be able to tune with more than the TPS signal and FMU ( boost dependant). I guess that you may have already purchased a SAFC by now.

I'm confuzzled. Is this a turbo checklist or..?

EDIT: Nooga box I hope you didn't paint your turbo. It will need the exposed metal to dissipate heat. Any other coatings you may see colored; black, silver, chrome, etc, are usually done with a cermic coat or polished. It may not last long that color and could possibly effect the lifespan based on heat confinement over continued heat cycles. Just my .02 tho..
