so im replacing my clutch again. did the swap to the 95 neon flywheel and longer bolts the last time around because non modular parts are much cheaper, im inevitably looking at south bend clutch for this job. had an ebay clutch by the brand of BAHNHOF, yeah yeah ebay = crapbay. for those thinking of getting one it had good grab (was a 6 puck sprung) but it made my clutch pedal softer than stock which leads me to believe the pp didn't have as much clamping force as they say it did. and after about 20k mi it flung a spring.

but my ? is in searching i've found very cheap act and centerforce discs that don't list the applications for them. they just say 17 spline and 8.8 dia. could i just get one of these and a pp from southbend or somewhere else that matches size wise?

also is 17 spline and 8.8 dia. what i should be looking for? i kno the specs on the ebay one said 8.5 and u could tell it was smaller because the wear marks on the flywheel are like 1/4 in from the outside edge

i am planning on adding power very soon got rods and pistons and other stuff for turboed ready to go in, just waiting for cooler weather to yank motor

whiles i'm spending $300+ on a clutch i want to know it's gonna be able to hold up after i turbo

i was looking at spec also. i would need the disc and pp for the 95 neon right? anything else they sold me would be modular or for the the 4g63 motors right?

and the tob, still get the eclipse one? don't know if the one for the neon is even the right size.

I have the spec stg 2 right now also with about 15k miles on it and its been holding up pretty good so far and Im currently making almost 300hp. They pedal is still soft like stock but just a tad bit stiffer. And you should use a new oem TOB they are much better than cheap aftermarket ones.

about that. last time i got a tob from the dealership and no chatter for about 4 months, then it came back. when i pulled the tranny out this time i noticed the tob has a good bit of play on the input shaft sleeve i guess is what you'd call it. does that sleeve just thread out/ could mine be worn down a good bit?

Mine had a bit of play also when I put it in, but I figure the clutch fork is supposed to hold it in place. And if I hear mine chattering I can just push in the clutch half way and let it back out and it will stop chattering, I guess it kind of repositions the TOB.
But thats a good question. I have a spare NT305 tranny sitting in the garage and Ill open it up to see where that sleeve attaches to, but I doubt it has too much wear on it.
