I have a 97 n/a mitsubishi eclipse. I blew the engine about a year ago and have gone threw a few crappy motors my mechanic has thrown into it. I baby the car and cannot honestly blame the bad luck I have had with the motors on myself. In the quest to find a reliable motor for my car I came across slowboyracing.com. I found stock 420a motors on this site but do not know what the difference is between the short block and long block motors, or what kind my car would need. If anyone has any input or has had any experience with slowboyracing.com's products please let me know it would be greatly appreciated.

Short block = Just the block (bottom end).

Long block = short block + head + oil pan + front case +.........etc = complete motor.

thanks for the info. do you think it would be better to buy the long block as a complete motor or to buy the short block and then buy the remaining parts I would need. I am not driving the car so tiime is not really an issue but money is and I also want good performance and reliability from the motor. Any input would be appreciated.
