So I just did a full stock rebuild and everything seems to be great except I saw a small amount of milky oil on top of the alternator bracket. I don't think it is the VC gasket or the cam gear seal so does that seem head gasket?

Drain the oil out of the pan and see if its emptying that milky oil look. If it does it probably is the head gasket.

I will check the tstat now, I looked again and its the VC not the HG leaking. The oil looked fine on the VC (where it leaked) but on the bracket was a milky spot.

I only got the oil changed like 40 miles ago.

did you make sure to use anaerobic sealant on the bed-plate perimeter, where the water jacket is? past that, id say HG might be leaking. how good of a surface job was done on the block and head, and did you use the MLS HG?
