420a, maybe the good choice???

I was talking to some guys who own Turbo Eclipses (and are into motors) and they were telling me that buying a N/T wasn't that bad of a choice actually. They were telling me the turbo motors had alot of problems with crankwalk and stuff like that and that the 420a is a Dodge motor and much stronger. So therefor would be a great motor to turbo.

Anybody else agree/disagree???

I justed wanted to hear some opinions on this.

the 4G63 is an awesome motor if it wasn't it wouldn't have been around for something like 2 decades or more. but the problem is, is that most of the cars with them are beaten, not always the case but more times than not the motors are pretty beat. the 420A is a great motor, it gets great gas mileage and runs strong. it is decently quick (not blazing fast but quick) and seems to be reliable and can take a beating. just make sure that you keep up with maintenance, just like in anyother car. the motor does have alot of potential for turbo's just look at the turbo conversion forum. Crankwalk isn't as big a problem as everyone makes it out to be, it is mostly in the 7-bolts and i would say that less than 5% of them have ever crankwalked. dsm's just have alot of maintenance illiterate people which is why they are usually broke down on top of them being beaten on. hope that helps.
