420a gear ratio change (auto) for better 0-60?

I love my car but I wish it was a little quicker off the line. How complicated would a project like this be, and how much would it cost to have it done for me at a shop? This would be my first mod and again I have auto trans.

A hi-stall torque converter would probably do you more justice.

X2 on a converter. Plus I don't think I've ever seen different planetary headsets for a DSM (especially the 420A auto).

I read up on this a bit but I don't get how it would make my car any faster. There are too many mixed facts and people who think they know what they're saying. But here's my question, will that make my car accelerate faster? And what parts would I need to replace so its not hurting my car

A hi-stall converter will allow you to launch at higher RPMs from a complete stop. Only way to make the car faster is to well.. make the car faster. Not sure of your knowledge on A/T, but its NOTHING like a M/T. The planetary gearset is a bit more complicated and as stated above, there doesn't seem to be any after market sets.

Or depending on how mechanically gifted you are a m/t swap might be your flavor. Its not hard, takes about a day, and if you get the m/t ecu out of the donor car, will net you a higher rev limiter
