You need a wideband O2 sensor to get your A/F ratios. I assume you have something to control your fuel with? Boost without knowing A/F... not good.

I have Blox 12:1 FMU,Blox bypass valve for MAP sensor,Walbro 255 HP,Runnin with 7lb sping in wastegate.I pulled a sparkplug out and it was redish brown,is that good?Right now I only have a regular A/F gauge and its not very consitant.I plan on getting wide band set up,but don't have the money yet.The car has not thown any codes at me yet.Ive been useing it for about a week now.Won't the check engine lite come on if it starts runnin lean?I got to go away for easter to see family.Its about a hour drive.I want to make sure every thing will be ok.

I also spoke with my speed shop guy and he said that even with his dragsters that the motor will start runnin hot if the mixture is too lean.will are cars do the same(run hot if lean)or will I just burn holes through my pistons even with the motor runnin at nomal operating temperatures?

Might help you with your plugs;

Spark Plugs

But more importantly, you can't just guess afr's. You will need the wideband to see where your afr's at; what point in the throttle; and at what point in the rpm's; and at what point in the boost etc.

You will not necessarilly throw a code for lean conditons. There is a code for just lean conditions (PO171), but generally you will burn a hole in the side of your piston before you see that code :p (unless, of course, it is very excessive. The problem becomes lean + boost which is only in a certain range).

And, yes, that problem is associated with combustion chamber heat.

Thanx for the help.Its hard to tell the color of the plugs on my computer screen( red color is not working in my monitor).But my plugs are a redish brown(but pretty clean otherwise).Temp is runnin normal.I hope I'll be Ok untill I'm able to get my wideband:pray:.Should I be Ok if I don't race around(under high boost)?Car seems to run better then ever,Runs much smoother,Idles perfect.I did alot of research and got alot of help from YOU GUYS!and it really shows!If you guys lived nearby I'd love to take you out for some beers on me,but anyway thanks for all your help!:thumb: Any Ideas on a reasonable wideband set up that would be good for me?never plan on goin over 10lbs boost(daily driver)Just need to keep eye on A/F mixture(very anal):D

Assuming that the 12:1 FMU and the Walbro is working properly (among some other things), you should actually be running rich. However, only way to tell is with a WB. The AEM EUGO works fine and you can get them decently cheap these days ~$200 or less. Check with the vendors.

You'll be fine driving. I would personally not boost much or at all just til you know what's going on. But you should be fine.

Where'd you get that ECU wrap?
The center section of the turbo (where the oil lines are) should ideally be pointed straight up (feed) and straight down (return). I would say it's not bad the way it is, but you can burn out the seals quicker than usual.
I hope your wastegate has a dump tube on it as well.
I also like how you actually group all the wiring and hoses together. Makes it look clean, and not a lot of people do that. Zip ties FTW!

Yeh I just bought the AEM wideband kit.The sunpro A/F gauge I bought is abought usless!I wish I would of known sooner,just a waste of money!I could spin the center of my turbo around alittle,I was afraid of braking the fitting.right now its about 2 oclock and 8 oclock no good?I'm trying to take it easy for now but I'm still trying to figure out why the motor don't wanna climb past 5000rpm while under boost.I bought a new fuel filter,maybe thats the problem.I think the one on the car is original.The wrap is industrial cooling wrap.it keeps the heat out really well,you just cant put it around hot pipes it WILL melt.I pulled up all my carpets and soundproofed my whole car with it as well.It works great for that with 2" wide metalic tape.alot cheaper then dynomat!and I scewed up when I made the dump tube ahead before I installed my oil dump line in the oil pan.Directly in the way.I'll figure something out with that soon.Not having it for the time being should hurt nothing though,would itI don't think I'm making enoughboost for it to open yet.trying not to go over 5-6psi.
