420a belt problem?! need help ASAP

i have a 97 RS and everytime i start my car now something starts to squeak VERY LOUD. I thought it was my tensioner cause i have always had problems with it so i took the belt completely off the car. That did not help at all.could it be the altenator belt? it looked fine when i looked at it so idk, any help PLEASE.

is there not suppossed to be any play in the belt at all?

some, you dont want it too tight or u will burn out the bearings. remember u can spin the Altenator very easly, but when the coil is energized their is alot of Resistance on the pulley.

do u know anything about the 420a eating belts on the ps and the alt
