Does anyone else ahve a problem with speed shifting into second?
Also i have a ton of play in the shifter in all the down gears 2-4-R?
 
hmm id try posting in the Drivetrain/Tranny forum.

what do you mean by hard time speed shifting? like it feels like your hitting a lockout (like going from 5th to reverse lockout)?

ton of play in all the down gears? like stick moves when in gear? when not touching it when it in gear do you see it move or does it move when you wiggle it a bit? all shifters move a little when you wiggle them, even in gear. but on its own its a probem.

does it pop out of gear on it own?

ya i have that problem with "speed shifting" into second occasionally. i actually had it worst going into 3rd. i think that its mostly just pressing the clutch down the right amount at the right time.
 
you probably just need to replace the bushings in your shifter. Ive never heard of a loose shifter making your tranny go out. Yes i had that same problem. I agree with gs going fast. I just pressed the clutch in a bit sooner and it took care of it.
 
I had the same problem i think. It was only in the down gears. My would go into 2,4,R and then a little farhter back, which i jokingly called 2nd and a half. The problem was that a nut had come off one of my shift arms. I was easy to fix, other than the facy that it was the arm atached to my trany arm, so it was pretty much under my head, had to remove a shit load of stuff, but the fix took like 5 min. Maybe thats what you were talking about and maybe not.

What he said. I'd recomend start checking obvious stuff on the outside of the transmission before looking internally for problems. Also, you may want to post stuff like this in the problem diagnosis or, as mentioned above, drivetrain/suspension area.

i have problems with my 2,4,R missing and falling out. it almost seems like they go in better at a high rpm then a low rpm.
