better late then never! LOL thanks!

Quick question, can i just pull the plug and replace it with an oil line feed? I do not plan on having a oil pressure guage soon. or then should i just still put in the tee and install the stock oil pressure sending unit there, so i would at least have that..? also if i just remove it will the light in my car turn on?

do yourself a favor and put a tee in there and get an electric oil pressure gauge, they're cheap....no, your dummy light in the dash will not come on by taking out the factory oil pressure sending unit :thumb:

P.S. please disregard my previous post as I was a tad bit tipsy and in some kind of objective mood ROFL

L

:thumb: just do it :) it will be MUCH easier now then later.

where can i get a cheap one? and what kind do i get?

I also have another question, do intercoolers flow air one way? By this i mean i am waiting on a 2g smic and i have to start thinking of how to run the piping and i wanted to know if it made a difference which one of the holes of the smic i used for what.

and one more, in the picture is that strictly for the pressure guage? what is that? and where can i get a guage that comes with one of those things?!

I can't believe I didn't see this thread today while I was at work. I could have saved you a LOT of time. This is my set up. I built it to accommodate a future turbo feed line back when I had GT35R plans. Since the car will never be turbocharged now, this is kinda of overkill and I will be reducing it when I pull the head again next month. You can see the capped end (where the feed line would go) on the left, and the OPSU on the right.

All the stock OPSU does is activate the dummy light in the dashboard on a 2GNT. Nothing more. The OPSU in this picture is the one for my electronic oil pressure gauge in the cabin. It has one wire that runs to the gauge. That's it. The knock sensor (meager as it is) is the one in the center, and the crank angle sensor (CAS) is the one that bolts up by the oil filter. OiL on the Left. CRank on the Right.

And this picture is just amusing to share in this thread.

I hope you get a nice seal for your intake manifold. I would suggest removing that paint where the intake manifold bolts up before you install it.

The intercooler does not have a specific flow direction. A cheap oil pressure gauge can be purchased on ebay, or a vendor like summitracing.com.

Yes, the thing you circled comes with an electronic oil pressure gauge. That is the sending unit. You could probably get away with a mechanical oil pressure gauge also. I installed a mechanical one on my g/f's car and it is holding up just fine. I think it was 10$. ;)

Though there isn't really anything wrong with a mechanical gauge, it's heavily recommended to go with electronic.

Electronic - wire fed from a sender goes to gauge in the car

Mechanical - Oil fed through a hose goes to gauge in the car.(hot oil at that ;) )

ELECTRIC oil pressure guage...don't be that guy ;)

there ya go, they have some of the best prices I've seen around the net...otherwise, take the part numbers from their site and do the 'ol ebay search.

Well obviously it's pointed in DR1665's direction. I think the more suiting question is, "What are you talking about?" I would guess he thinks it got painted when really it's just a nice clean fresh aluminum head.

I know who's he's talkin to LOL, but I don't think he does :toobad:

I'm sure sir driggs will put him in his place LOL

no problemo

merry x-mas :dsm:
