hey guys, quick question. im buyin a 96 eclipse rs manual swap for 300 bucks! the guy said that it needs a new bottom end. he said needs a new crank, main bearings, and rod bearings. and a radiator. he mentioned that i can buy a 2.4 crank and stroke it to a 2.2. i wont be putting in new rods or anything like that. just the crank. after searching for a long time i wasent able to find a 2.4 crank. i read that you can use a 2.4 crank from a 1999 dodge stratus. so, i went on to RockAuto Auto Parts and found one. i just wanna know if it will work in my new car. i couldnt get the full link to it. RockAuto Auto Parts => dodge => 1999=> stratus => 2.4l l4 dohc => engine => crankshaft. the second down on the list. its the 19096 one, for 252.79. if anyone can take time to help me out id really appericate it!!

Couple things to help you out, a 402 is a muscle car, you are looking at a 420a (engine name not cubic inches) Secondly, people can do a 2.4 cloud car in our cars, but its not as simple as replacing the crank to swap it out, if I remember correctly its using a 2.4 block and our head, but you will want to research it more, its not just a simple swap.

If you are looking to stroke, you can stroke to a 2.2 by simply replacing the crank, if you can find one. I work for a company that produces them, but the cranks are currently on back order at the moment (thats the abridged version of it).
