3rd Annual Northeast DSM Meet- MARK YOUR CALENDARS

I'd love to come to this meet. I'm definitely marking it down in my calander.

It would be great to meet some DSM guys. Everyone I know from home is in the V-dub club. LOL

Ah, what the hell. Sign me up. I won't be bringing the Spyder, because I don't drive it on the expressway due to the $4k paint job, so I'll be sporting the Mazda 3s. Unless I can hitch a ride with Brian and Eric. :p

Anyone know if you can bring booze to a state park. :D

Hm...I'm thinking we should just rent a big rig to get all of our cars down there. No worries of rock chips then! Halfsies?

Sign me up. :D

Stone chips is what I'm trying to avoid. I have two in the last 3 years and both of them wanted to make me cry. :sosad:

But this is the annual NE dsm meet. If there were one time for you to drive your car, it's this meet! Or what about a u-haul trailer, not all trailer queens are race cars. Show cars get pampered too. I think a open trailer behind a tow vehicle would keep them away.

Buy a car cover and cut holes for the windows.

No way am I cutting holes in my $350 OEM Mitsubishi cover. :p

A friend of my Dad's said he covers the entire front of his car with that blue painters' tape when he goes to an event. I guess it just peels right off and doesn't leave any gooey stuff.

I've been considering looking into the 3M protection for the front, but I'm finding that it's pretty expensive and I don't know anywhere local that would be able to install it for me.

Sweet, it'd be nice to finally meet you. :hellyeah::hellyeah:

Ditto. There were a couple names on that list of people I've been wanting to meet, yours being one of them, that made me decide to come.

So, anyone know about the booze situation in the park? I checked out their "Rules and Regulations" and it says:

"(2) Possessing, selling or consuming an alcoholic beverage except at specially
designated facilities operated or leased by the Department."

What the hell does that mean?

FYI, I just looked into reserving the same pavilion and found out there are absolutely no pavilions available on the 31st. Not cool!

The same pavilion we always use is available the next day though. So my proposition, and I'm very very very sorry about this, is to move it to Sunday. I figured we'd have no problems getting a pavilion, even if it wasn't the same one, but there's nothing available on Saturday.

If this won't work, then someone better suggest something else.

When I called this morning it said alcoholic beverages were not allowed in the park. Now, that's not saying people didn't have them last year (at least from what I've read). And I obviously can't tell you what to do :p

So if you do bring something in, just make sure not to be obnoxious about it and try to keep it under wraps (pour into a cup, instead of drinking out of can/bottle). We've never had any issues in the past, so obviously if people had it, they did a good job of being responsible about it.

And Nate, a lot of people use the painter's tape method. It does work well and leaves no residue.

Sunday works for me.

Bummer. I was thinking that the Pavilion would be a "designated area" according to the rules. Big red plastic Solo cup here I come! :sneaky:

Man, you're always spoiling the fun. I was going to bring a couple cases of Old Mil' pounders, get blasted and start a riot. ROFL

I would feel a little weird driving around in a car covered in painters' tape. Plus, that stuff is expensive. I think I'll just bring the Mazda.
