Was just busting your balls man, there's plenty of that on this site. But yeah it would be nice to see who some of the people on here look/act like in person. The last get together i was kinda shocked but i shouldn't have been surprised that most of the dsmtuners were really young.

Im not tryin to start anything, I just wanna see who is who, and I hope slippi is coming because I might be the only black person there

James and I have been talking and we wanted to add something new to the meet this year. So we were thinking of adding a little competition – like a car show. We would come up with a few categories and have people vote on the best car for each category. We could do this one of two ways.

1. We could charge to vote (like $1/vote, $5/6 votes) and then hand out actual prizes for the winners. Any left over money would go to the renting fees for the pavilion, and then the traditional money to the person who comes from the furthest away

2. We could do it all for free and then James and I could come up with some humorous gifts to hand out to the winners.

I’m also going to see if any local vendors might be willing to donate a small gift that we could also hand out. This way we can get more vendors involved.

So, what are your thoughts on this?

Best 2g
Best Evo
Best overall
Could add best gvr4 with 1g's or do best Other mitsu and combine it with any 3000gt, gvr4, 3g, or other mitsu's that show up.
Maybe you can give those guys shirts or something from a participating vendor. It doesn't have to be anything big but it would be cool to do with or without a prize IMO.

I also think some sort of sign in sheet or something similar would be cool to have to try and get a full tally or idea of who showed up. Just hard to get people to do it from previous events i been to.

We're going to have a sign there for sure. Sandra did this at the first meet, but wasn't able to be at last year's. She said she'll be there for this one, so I'm counting on her to bring a sign! If not, I'll make sure there's one there.

I'm down for the car show contest. I don't if you can have just a best 2g category, I mean, I would maybe think of splitting it up a little, like 2ga eclipse/talon( They look like each other too much to split IMO, 2gb eclipse, 2gb talon? Do 1ga and 1gb? Just some suggestions...

Best budget build (or home fabrication)

Best Non Eclipse Dsm
Ie evo/VR4/3000gt ect ..(If you more than a few you could do best EVO ect.. )


I think that would cover most of it. has a bunch of fun catagories to enter and gives a little bit of everyone a chance to win.

I don't see the reason to break it up. It's not that big of a meet/show where its necessary to break it down to model's. I can understand it at a Carlisle show, or a big "show-n-shine" event at e-town or something but not with having under 150 cars.

I kind of have a similar response to your post as the one above. Breaking down "stock-ish" & modified at a meet of this size takes away from it imo. Yea, it helps make it "fairer" for everyone but run what ya brung. Gives you reason to step you game up for next year
I do like some of your fun categories though. What i suggested was a little bare so i agree some other type of categories need to be made but not be to picky considering the size of the meet.

Obviously this is all just my opinion, i appreciate the suggestions. Hopefully we can take them all into account and figure something pretty cool out. We need enough categories, but not to many.

Im just speaking from the experiences i have had at the many non dsm meets I have been too. I think my favorite was the bear mt MR2 meet we had over 100 people and burned most of the day driving some of the best roads I have ever been on.

their car show had lots of little categories which made it fun because the people who had really clean mostly stock cars were attracting as much attention as those who had lots of polished parts in their show/drag cars.

besides we already have a ton of people going, so whats it hurt to give out a few more bottle openers or shamwows ?


I really do wanna see a getto fab category of some kind. out of all the cars i have been into over the years i have never seen any tuners do more with less money.

Ideas are good. I'll have to look through some past years pictures and see what types of categories would work. I think a stock one will definitely work as I know we had a few stock or close to stock cars there last year.

I like the idea of just a few categories, like best 2g, best 1g, best evo, etc. Because like everyone said this will not be a big enough meet to have smaller categories. This way ANYBODY has a chance to win something like "best 2g" because people will take into account different things when they vote.

Just my opinion...
