3in press bent catback

I think a shop made press bent 3" catback would be sufficient for my power goals, but how would this compare in sound & power to a mandrel 3" or a 2.5" Anyone running a 3" press bent? Is this a good idea or should I suck it up and drop some more $ for a 3" mandrel? Thanks.

if i rememver correctly, AWD's can get away with having a straight pipe as a catback... may want to look into that, and if there are MINIMAL bends.. i say go with pressbent

I was thinking the same thing, I was also thinking that if the bends end up hendering my performance then I will just order some mandrel bent bends and take them to the shop and have them weld them in then. My goals for now are just around 300-350 and then workin all on suspension to get it all to the ground. Anyone actually done a 3" pressbent on this board? I havent been able to find any good info...

im running a 2 3/4 press bent dp to a 3" flex to 3" press all the way back. i really think it depends on who and what kind of bender the person/shop is using. i have compared mine to several mandrel bent cat backs and can see minimal differences in diameter. i think if you can get it done for significantly cheaper as in my case(free) i would go with the press bent.

the guy building my car told me that press bent will do the trick nearly as well as mandrel if done right. He's hookin me up with a custom press bent system for much cheaper than I could ever buy one from anyone else, press or mandrel, so I'll take his word for it, haha.
