2G 3g top on a 2g

I've been looking around salvage yards for a 2g spyder for a good top. Can't find one anywhere near me... However there is a couple 3g convertible in salvage yards in town. My question is this... Will a 3g top for a 2g? They look very similar to me but I don't want to waste my money or time

My best educated guess is that No, a 3g top will not fit our 2g frame.

I would probably say no just because I believe the 3g is wider however maybe the tops are similar. Maybe if you could take some measurements of your top like width and such I could see what the measurements of my 3g top are after I get off of work

Yeah it's not a fit according to a few people in a fb group I'm in. Found a top online for $400ish I'll be saving for

Hope the top works for you then, but just make sure all of your weather stripping is in good condition or next time it rains you might get a bath

Yeah I'll probably be ordering new weather stripping too
