I replaced the steering column in my 2000 eclipse what else do I need to do to get the switch to work on my car I had somebody tell me I need the computer and immobilizer out the other car but I bought mine from the junkyard and they don't have the car anymore
 
This forum is dedicated to 1g and 2g DSMs. Yours is a 3g Eclipse. Head over to club3g.com as that's the dedicated 3g forum.

That said, it sounds like you just need to have the ecu/anti theft system learn and receive your new ignition switch/key. Many cars have a procedure to do this that the owner can take care of (cycling the key several times while holding the brake pedal down... stuff like that). The folks at Club3g should be able to point you in the right direction.
