ok i got a set of 3g eclipse gsx style rims.. but some how 1 pair is staggered and the other is regular. anyone know the measurements for this? i have it on my gsx but dont want to miss up the drive train.

Some 3g GT eclipse came with some rims That Look like the 2gb Gsx rims and sounds like he's tryin to distinguish a 3g GT rim from a 2Gb Gsx rim,..

a little custom badging and you can have whatever car you want... i saw a mazda 6 GTR the other day...

I've seen the 3G guys drop in an evo 8 drivetrain with serious modification, look it up on youtube, its still technically NOT a GSX but its still sweet, either way this thread is not about that... I think he means the 3G rims that look similar to the 2G GSX wheels... its a legit question... dont get so bent out of shape guys...

You know, I love this site... but from time to time, there are some ignorant ass biases that go wondering about. The OP says, as show above "3g eclipse gsx STYLE rims..." Emphasis on style. Now, for the most part, I can confirm this because I had a 3g when they first came out. Then a second wave came out with the enkeis as an option for the GT. I had a 2k which had the heavy ass 6 spoke looking things like this:

Then they started coming out with these:

Then finished off the 3g series with these:

And these:

They are slightly different then the enkeis, split five spokes that is, but the 3g did have 2g gsx style wheels.

It saddens me that KIDS will start to boil down responses to immature comments and completely stupid hacks at someone, because they couldn't comprehend the initial question and then take that comment and run with it. While I love my 97 GSX, it is not the best car out there. It is the best car for ME but stop putting it on this pedastool like it's dipped in platinum, then start spewing diatribe because someone may not be familiar with DSM's. Good god...:ohdamn:

But, to the OP, just for clarification... they never came staggered. If they did, those are custom wheels and not of OEM.

you are correct there are alot of ignorant instigators. please read the topic carefully. You are correct with the pic. 1 pair of the rims are stagger like the picture on the maroon eclipse you posted. the other two are regular.

I think What the OP ment on his post was , he's got 3rd gen "GSX STYLE" rims but one is diferent somewhat staggered and he wants to know how to tell the difference...

Holy crap deliveryboy. You single handedly derailed this thread with a flare of immeasurable magnitude. You need to slow down dude.

People have long been referring to these wheels as 3g GSX wheels without this kind of stuff going on.

lauj2gdsm, what are the indicators you're seeing that the wheels are staggered? I cannot detect any staggering on the maroon eclipse. Do you have the wheels in your possession? Would it be possible to get some measurements of the wheels?
To address your other concern, the safety of running a staggered setup on an AWD DSM is rather speculative. So long as the diameter of all 4 wheels is within tolerance you should have no problems. But how does one go about doing that, since it appears to be difficult to get both pairs of different profile tires to have a reasonably well matching overall diameter? Shaving is one way, but not desirable.

i should of been more clearer. what i meant to say is that they look staggered because the blades bends in, making it about 1" deep vs the other pair which are flat face blades. im starting to think that whoever used to own these wheel purposely wanted to mix these wheels so the look staggered in the back and regular in the front. its a pretty popular thing around my neck of the woods. right now the rims are on the same tire size but some how i would just like to know the measurements on these rims. i guess no one has the answer. maybe when i get some new tires i can measure it. but look again very closely to the maroon eclipse front rims you will see that the rim blades bend inward.

Its really funny how since no one can see or hear any emotion in the context of the text they automatically take everything the wrong way on here.

here we go enjoy. i didnt even notice until a AE86 staggered crazed friend told me " yo your shit is staggered"... didnt even have them paired up right.:D some how the 240s owners and drifter likes to comment on me like damn.. didnt know Mitsubishi had staggered stetup.. they think its badd ass. so yea thats where i got staggered from.
