The gods smiled on me today and had some retarded girl rear-ended me at a stop sign. She spidered my bumper a little which isn't a big deal since the car is getting repainted in the spring. She wants to pay it out of pocket since she's had like 6 accidents in the past year. My question now is what should I blow the money on? I already have the exhaust done and the new tranny, axles, brakes, and front suspension goes in over the Christmas break. I'm thinking about getting the upgraded fuel pump since my rewired one just isn't doing the job lately along with the hard intercooler piping and an intake. My only concern with the fuel pump is that I still need to get decent gas mileage out of the car till I'm done with my doctoral program in 2 years. Let me know if anyone has any other suggestions. I think I have all my mods posted.

save it, cause when you hit 90k miles and want to put a fp 3052 on your car and you know you're going to blow up your motor if you do that, you will be in the same position now and need as much money as you can get your hands on.

or you could help me reach my goal of $10k so that i can put in a standalone, a built 2.4L from slowboy w/ install kit, and a fp 3052, plus misc other crap.

Buy your fuel pump if you want, but dont bother with hard intercooler piping etc, itll go in the garbage when u want a fmic. Save the rest. Put it in the bank.

If you have 350 to spend, ask your self "how far do i want to go?" as in do you want to make it as fast as your pocketbook will allow? Or do you not want to throw thousands of dollars at it and still have a mid 13 sec car

Thanks for all the replies guys. I think I am going to get the fuel pump for now and save the rest. I still have an old NPR FMIC still sitting in the garage, maybe I'll start messing around with it again and prep it for when I paint the car since I'm going to pull the bumpers, doors, hood, and everything else when I go to paint so installing it when I'm done painting shouldn't be a problem.

I'm not real worried about the bumper since it's not like she hit it that hard and there was no change in shape from the impact, I think it spidered because it was a really cold day when she hit me. Oh and BTW I am going to mix in some flex additive when I paint the bumpers I won't have to go through this again hopefully.

My goals for the car at this point are not that high. I'm more than happy with the way the car runs right now with the ported 14b and little add-ons. I just need it to get me through school for the next 7 semesters and then I'll worry about doing the major mods. I figure once I'm a physical therapist I'll be making enough money that I can buy myself a new car for transportation and then mod the snot out of the DSM for a weekend tinker toy.

I have dated pictures and everything so there is no way she is getting away with this. I just talked with a local bodyman and he says that he'll just charge them for a new bumper and everything, I'll also have to get the back half of the car repainted to match since red is such a pain to match.

I have two witnesses that were in the car with me so I can get them to testify. Hopefully their word will count with the insurance company.

I also have pics from a couple days after the accident from a bodyshop. It says in his estimate that it is evident that there was contact with another vehicle while mine was at a standstill. He also pulls some paint scrapings off and they match her Cavalier.

I talked with the girl again today and she thinks that since her Cavalier has a pointed front end that there is no way for her to hit any other part of my bumper other that dead in the middle. I've about had it with her. I tried to be nice and let her pay for it without turning it in since she probably has a $500 deductible and they wouldn't pay anything anyhow and just raise her rates. If I don't get some type of compliance out of her by tomorrow, I'm turning it into my insurance and I'll let them go after her with the evidence I have.

Well I just got done talking with her insurance company and they say they are going to pay for everything since I have all the evidence that I have. The lady I talked to remembered my voice from the beginning of August when another one of their policy holders totaled my Civic while it was parked. I guess it will be nice to get the rear end of the car all painted. The body shop also said that if I come in and do the prep work on the two tiny rust spots in have by the bumper while its off, he would paint them for free. I was just hoping to spend that money on something else since I already have the paint paid for.
