i was just wondering can i be able to squeez 300hp to da wheel easily with the b16g on 91 pump??? who here has done it.

its def doable...jus get urself some cams...and the normal bolt on mods...fmic, safc, injectors, pump, etc etc... turn boost up to 20lbs and u should see maybe 290-310whp...my 2 cents :dsm:

Correction: jus looked at ur mod list..u got 300whp there...and ur fwd...it will be easier to be a dyno queen and put down better numbers then the awd version of the almighty eclipse :dsm: , talon :talon: .laser :laser: ... :dsm:

Its doable but u will need to run more than 20 psi in my opinion and maybe mix the 91 with a lil race gas. I dont think cams are necessary but they will definitley help. I believe a big 16g is rated at 340 hp so 300 whp is doable. Good luck

with 18psi, fmic and all the supporting mods yes if you can tune. So yes you can, with magical tning a small 16g has reached 333whp. I would think with turbo back 2.5in exhaust, fmic, ALL hard piping, supporting fuel(550s for 93, 600cc+ for 91) and tuning youll be able to put it down in a fwd manual. Throw in cams hks 264/264 or if your a top end freak 264/272(kinda pointless on this turbo) and you should be able to squeeze more then 300whp. Just make sure yopu match the fmic to the b16g as it isnt very effecient...

If your looking to use 91 pump gas propane or water/alcohol injection might be something your interested in. I believe using something like that would make your task easier.

ok thanks... i know its possible because i have all the lil bolt ons except for cams. all i know until dyno. is that 20psi pulls freakin hard

yea i was looking into cams. but my clutch is slipping away. so im going to put that on hold for a while

i remember seeing a site on the hks cams and the gains it made on a 1g. but its been long i forgot which site it was. ill like to go there agian and review that page.

This has been posted several times... It should Help

Conclusion:

We reached the limitations of the 16G turbo during this test. The turbo would not make any more power nor would it hold more than 20psi of boost at higher RPM's. When the boost was turned up to 25psi the torque went to 350ft-lbs (HKS 272's) but the boost again would fall to 20psi and only make 327whp. From the dyno graphs it appears that for the best track times the HKS 272's would be the best choice. With a larger turbo choice (T3/T4) I think the difference in high RPM horsepower would be more apparent and would reflect better on the more aggressive camshafts. Time permitting we might run a test between a few of these camshaft on car with a larger turbocharger. In the meantime we'll be installing an FRH intake manifold and less restrictive intake tract on the 16g powered test car to see if we can squeeze a little more airflow out the little guy.

And it shows all the mods the car has had. I have a big 16g right now, with some special goodies. but I'm hoping for 330-350 this spring... with 12.5 runs... KEEPING IT RELIABLE WITH A 16G. Just to note!!! The did use 100 octane.

I never said that it was not possible, but in the form that the question was phrased being "easy and 91", i dont think so. Yes after a range of supporting mods and tuning, then sure. I didnt look at his mod list first, and maybe if i had i would have taken his question in a different light.
Yes, its doable. ;)

I made 338awhp on a small 16g.

With the big 16g and being fwd 300whp should be easy. My freind last night laid down 290fwhp at 18psi on a big 16g with a suprasidemount, fuel and exhuast. So you should be able to do it.

Last year I dynoed 310awhp and 290 ft. lbs. on Extreme's dyno with my small 16G, 20psi, 91 pump, water injection, Alamo SMIC and a lot of other mods. So yeah, 300hp is doable but for me it wasn't "easy".

were you the guy who had the dark colored talon?? I think I talked to you...arent you the original owner of that car? Cause I specifically remeber watching a talon put those numbers down....but I thought it was at lower boost.

I just did 283 on my EvoIII with 93. On a stock engine, 300 seems to be an artificial ceiling unless cams, race gas or trick injection are involved.

just b/c you didnt do it doesnt mean its not possible. I made what you did with a small 16g and no cams on pump gas with awd. So its possible.

fact is its possible, go do it. tune the car if you cant do it. add more stuff to the car.

Im running a big 16g 18psi 93oct
fmic
550's
pump
1g rail/regulator,tbody
all piping, full exaust
ported 02/headers
GM MAF
injen intake

wish i could find a cheap awd dyno around here :(

i plan on throwing cams/intake mani/1g head soon

I made 305awhp with a boost leak on my B16G. The dyno indicated 15 psi for that HP. And that was with my shitty stock '90 cams (peak HP ~5500rpms). Of course, this was also on 93 octane. As long as you've got the supporting mods and something to tune air/fuel with, you shouldn't have a problem.
