Hey I was wondering if anyone knew if the stock 18 inch VR4 rims would fit without any clearance issues on a 97 Eclipse. I know that the bolt pattern is the same for both cars, but I believe the VR4 rims are 18X9 while our OEM rims are only 16X6. I have not seen this done on any DSM with these 18s but I have seen some of the 3000gt 16 inch and 17 inch rims on our cars. The reason I'm asking is because I have the chance to score a very good deal on these wheels and think they would look great on my car! Thanks!

I wouldn't not think so but those rims are extremely heavy i would just stick with stock ones if i were you or buy some after market rims.

Dont think they will fit, but anyway. I have owned 3 vr4's and those rims I think are like 40lbs, most of the owners get new rims rather quickly if they do any sort of drag racing. Plus they like to "pit out"

I believe they are 18x8. I don't recall any 3/S coming with a 9in wide wheel from the factory. Even so, I had rubbing issues on my 1gs with the 17x8s, I would not expect the 2g to be any different - but I cannot say for sure. You may be able to get by with it if you change the tire size... maybe.

They are 18"x8.5"

either way they are still super heavy that there is enough not to get them. You can put 17x8 on a 2g with no rubbing issues. We have a wider wheel base than the 1g does

So nobody has ever seen this done? I wonder if smaller tires would be able to fit on that wide wheel base, but at the moment I'm not really worried about weight. My car is pretty slow, but I'm working on it haha. But do most think they won't fit, because I am getting the wheels for free I would just need to purchase tires.
